Not every reader is at the same level of knowledge as you

Readers come in all shapes and sizes. They also come with varying amounts of previous exposure to your topics. Some people will have never heard of Runescape, while others have thousands of hours in the game already.

Know that if you target only one of those audiences, your writing is not longer accessible to the other. It's a difficult to balance all the different readers, but it's a noble goal.
